Thursday on the balcony

 

Spring started last week which means the weather is getting just a tiny bit warmer. That's good because it's time for me to go out on the balcony and get some sun!

Monday Musings

We had some crazy weather here over the weekend.  It was pouring with rain and freezing cold and there was even snow on the nearby hills!  What happened to Spring?

Saturday Stuff

It is raining here today. We are supposed to get 13 years worth of rain in one day. This is not good for black cats.



I'm going upstairs to bed if anyone is looking for me.

p.s. Sorry I have not been around to visit much this week.  Mum has been really sick and even had a scratch on her eye, which made looking at the computer screen a bit difficult.

Spring has sprung!

Pups and kitties, today is the first day of Spring in Australia! I don't think the weather takes any notice of the dates since it's still cold here but in honour of the start of Spring I am posting this picture of a pretty pink flower to encourage the sun to come back.



Please hurry up and come and warm me up, sun. I'm a bit sick of the cold.

Sleepless Saturday

It's been very very hot this week, pups and kitties. Over 40C (102F) every day. I've spent a bit of time in my parsley pot:

But mostly I've been inside where it's a bit cooler. Mr Mouse has still not been behaving that well so I've had to teach him a few lessons. Hopefully he will learn something useful soon!
Mum and I have signed up for the Idita-Walk 2009, with some of the SMS mums and pups. She says she will be getting me my very own Huffle harness so we can go on walks together. I am not sure how I feel about this yet. The idea is: An event to promote physical fitness in the spirit of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. The Iditarod Sled dog race is 1049 miles long from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. To complete the Idita-walk, walk 30 minutes a day for 35 days between February 1, 2009 to March 31, 2009 for a total of 1049 minutes.

Saturday morning relaxing

Here I am on Saturday morning having a rest. Mum got out of bed early (after our coffee of course) and made me move so she could make the bed! How rude! So now I'm back on the bed and I'm not moving for the rest of the day. It's raining outside so I can't go and play in the backyard, my furs will get all wet and I don't like that.

My new favourite spot

It's been very cold this week. Last Sunday, our maximum temperature was 9 deg C! That is very chilly and I don't like it. There was even some hail. I am scared of hail so I had to run to mum for protection.

Before that, I was busy doing this:
I was at Praline's house trashing party last night so I'm a bit tired.

Friday means the weekend is coming

And that means mum and I have coffee in bed. Yay!

Mum and dad didn't want to get up this morning. Something about it being cold outside and they were both tired... blah blah blah. I got out of bed first. Then I huffed around in their bathroom for a bit so they got up to see what I was doing. Gets 'em every time!

This is me on my way back to bed this morning... I did mention it's a bit cold out, right?

Thursday... whatever

I wonder if Dave and Hollybbb will get married now? I can be the flower cat at their wedding! That would be so much fun. I guess Uncle Buckley will have to stay a single dog for a while longer.

My friend Turbo has been having seizures. This isn't good. When he is President he will ban them completely and then no-one will have to worry. I don't think I've ever had a seizure but mum says I am mental anyway - does anyone know what she means?

It's cold again today. I was an explorer cat outside this morning but then my paws got chilly so I had to come back inside. Before that, I was purring under the doona and dad was patting me. What more could a little black cat want?

Last night I hissed at and tried to bite mum because I was trying to walk all over the bed and she held on to one of my paws. I let her know that this is not acceptable behaviour. I don't think she'll try it again.

I heard a rumour

I heard a rumour that my best pup-bud's brother Dave is getting a special visitor today. Hollybbb, if you decide you don't like Dave that much because his ears aren't straight or his collar isn't on right, I will introduce you to Uncle Buckley. But honestly, I can't see that happening. Dave is cool (obviously not as cool as Zim, but who could be?). Can't wait to see the photos from that meeting!

Today it's raining at home. I don't like the rain, it makes my furs all wet and yucky. So I am inside where it's dry and warm.

I have noticed that the war between Wilbur and Khyra is escalating. Wilbur, if you need to leave the country in a hurry, just come and stay with me. Maybe we can gang up on Salvador and send him packing.

Monday mutterings

I have nothing exciting to report today. Mum has still not taken me to Kansas to visit Zimmie so I am home pouting in my Huffle bed.

Yesterday mum tried to take some more photos of me. She forgets that I got very good marks in my classes at Stormy's school of siberian studies. These are a few of the results:

Mum says please ignore the weeds, they are the only things growing in our garden at the moment. Apparently weeds don't need water.

Then I felt a bit sorry for her so I gave her this pose:
It was really windy last night at home so I stayed tucked up in my Huffle bed where it's safe. I don't like the wind, it messes up my fur.

Friday Follies

Because I live at the bottom of the world, I get to experience Friday long before any of you do. I can tell you that it's a bit cold and mum and dad are going to be home late from work. But it's all okay, I am tucked up in my Huffle bed with my laptop nearby so I can surf the interweb when I want to.


I'll just go and check if mum has left her plastic card at home so I can do some shopping on eBay. My friend Witty Kitty needs some help escaping from all those foster pups. And I need to buy a satellite navigation system for Ammy and Zim so they don't get lost on the way to my house.

And I think I passed my Khyraese khlass, Khyra said I did very well so I think I am allowed to put the logo on my blog.

Poo Face Salvador

Some of you yesterday said you had never seen a picture of Salvador before. That's because he is mean to me and this is my blog, not his! But just to show you that I can share, here is another picture of him looking mean.

You can't really tell from the pictures but he is a lot bigger than I am. In this picture he is sitting on top of his cat tower and plotting the downfall of everyone in this house (he forgets that mum buys the food and dad gives it to him).

Today mum had coffee in bed and I nearly spilt it everywhere! I jumped on her lap and headbutted her hand that was holding the coffee cup. It was nearly a coffee tsunami in the bed. It would have been really funny. But because she managed not to spill any, I dipped my tail in when she wasn't looking and she found some black furs at the bottom.

Today is cold and rainy so I'll be doing this all day...

Sleepy Huffle

This morning it's 3degC (that's 37degF for all you other pups and kitties out there). I don't like it when it's this cold, my paws get all chilly if I go outside so I have to stay in to keep warm. That doesn't give an explorer cat much chance to go exploring!

Last night I slept between mum and dad all night, it was so toasty! Early this morning I clawed mum's hair and got under the doona and I was even more toasty!

Weekend weather

Today it is pouring with rain at my house. Mum noticed it was raining at 5am when I woke her up (I wanted to get under the doona because it was cold) and it was still raining when we had our coffee in bed at 9am. It's just after lunch now and still raining!

I'm talking about the rain because a) it's the first time in about 25 million years that it's rained like this and b) it's preventing me from going outside and being an explorer cat! Okay, so maybe not 25 million years, but at least a few months. You don't have a drought for 11 years with rain like this.

Coffee in bed passed without incident and now I'm tucked up in my huffle bed snoozing the day away. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get to post about my meme memoir. Did you see Wilbur's? It was fantastic. I wish I had my pilot's license too. But since I don't even like going in the car, perhaps it's not the best plan. Witty Kitty, perhaps you should do one too!

Later I will supervise mum doing the washing. An Explorer Cat's work is never done! Perhaps I am a working breed like my best pup-bud Zimmie.

Nothing to report

It's Saturday today which means mum spends a longer time in bed in the morning, drinking the coffee that dad brings her, while he goes downstairs and reads the news online. That means I get to stay in bed too! Mum even got up and I stayed in bed!

I went out and lay in the sun during the day, but then I got tired again and went back upstairs for another nap this afternoon. I only got up when it was time for dinner.

Tomorrow I might go outside for a bit but mum says it's meant to rain so I might not. I'm a black cat, I can do what I like.

I'd like to say thanks to Turbo for visiting my blog, he is a very nice Siberian Husky from the USA who is running for President of Dogcountry. Even though he's a dog I will vote for him because he believes in many good things. I read his blog every day and so should you!

Winter is coming

It's much colder these days. I don't really like the cold. But it does mean that mum doesn't complain when I get under the doona.

It was a busy weekend in my house. It was dad's birthday on Saturday so everyone went out and left me at home alone (Salvador was nowhere to be seen but that's a good thing because it means he couldn't hit me over the head, like he did on Friday).

Sunday I had to do a lot of sunbaking in the backyard. Very busy times.

Mum's new computer is arriving today! That means I might be able to do videos on my blog (if mum can figure it out and explain it to me, that is).

Crazy weather

Yesterday was the windiest day in Melbourne in like a million years. Trees fell down everywhere and the trains and trams didn't run (I know because mum complained about it when she got home from work) and we had no electricity for hours! It was all dark and there was no telly to watch or anything. I could still play with my mouses though.

This morning I got under the doona with mum and dad because it was cold outside. I was so toasty! Dad was patting me and I was purring. Mum says I have a turbo purr. I haven't got a turbo so I don't know what she's talking about.
