Not a morning cat

This is how I look if you wake me up too early in the morning. I am not a morning cat and I don't know why certain people insist on waking me up. I don't have to go to work so I should be allowed to sleep.

By the way, all the photos in this week's posts were taken before Bazza was voted in as my bodyguard, which is why you don't see him anywhere. Since he arrived, the pupparazzi have not been able to get any new photos of me!

No mum, I am NOT looking at you with the flashy beast in your hand. Go away.

Mum says this photo makes me look... round. I just think it shows my flexibility. Right?

Rewarding Monday

Okay, A-warding on a Monday. Over the weekend I was lucky enough to receive TWO awards from my friends!

This one is from Star and Jack-A-Roo. The rules say you have to list six things that make you happy, and then six blogs to give the award to.
I have already done my list of six things here, but I'd like to share this one with my new friend Pemberley, and with Addie and Lucie and their brand new sister Hailey.

This one is from my best friend Zim and the Army of Four. Apparently it translates to "Proven! Your blog has sweetness!". Isn't that cool?I'm going to pass this award on to Lorenza, who is one of the sweetest pups I know.

Zombie Chicken attacks!

My lovely friends Ash and Pinky and the delightful Millie have give me the Zombie Chicken Award! I am a bit worried about what a Zombie Chicken is, but I guess as long as it just stays on my blog and doesn't try to eat me it will be okay.

As usual there are some rules that go with the award. But this one says, "There is nothing you need do except pass it on to 5 other blogs. The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the Zombie Chicken - excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggrs regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chicken to read their inspiring words".

I'm gonna share this one with every pup and kitty who visits my blog today.

ANZAC Day

Today is ANZAC Day, the day that marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day.
Australians recognise 25 April as an occasion of national commemoration. Commemorative services are held at dawn – the time of the original landing – across the nation. Later in the day, ex-servicemen and women meet and join in marches through the major cities and many smaller centres. Commemorative ceremonies are held at war memorials around the country. It is a day when Australians reflect on the many different meanings of war.

The Tragic Demise of Mr Mouse

Remember when my best friend Zimmie sent me Mr Mouse for a bodyguard? Well he did a good job for a long time but something terrible has happened to him!
You might think he looks okay in that photo above, but check this one out!
He has a big hole in his bottom! It's even worse from this angle:
He looks like all his gizzards are falling out.

I have no idea how this happened. Really. Now you can see why I had to appoint Bazza as my bodyguard. He's been in training this week and will start protective detail on Monday. I hope he does a good job. And I hope he's not scared off by these pictures of Mr Mouse!

Cats with Blogs update

Cats With Blogs

Kitties, something very bad happened last week. The Cats with Blogs site was attacked by evil spammers! Our whole discussion page was destroyed and Greg has had to spend a whole lot of time rebuilding it. It's very annoying. Everything that was already there was lost.

The good news is, our legendary webmaster Greg has it up and running again so we need all the kitties to go over and rejoin the discussion boards. We want some nominations for Awesome Blog Winner and Photo of the Month.

I don't understand why anyone would want to ruin a perfectly nice website and I certainly hope it never happens again!

In other news, we now have 106 members of Cats with Blogs! One day we'll catch up to the dogs. They are at 1,233 members at the moment. I know we can beat them!

The results are in!

Thankyou to everypup and kitty who voted in my poll! The winner by a clear margin was Bazza! He is pretty pleased with himself.
I am going to give him a one month trial. Hopefully he will be a good bodyguard. I don't know what I will do if he doesn't work out.

Special Delivery for Huffle Mawson!

The other day mum came home from the post office and she had a parcel for me! Look what was inside:
It was from Addie and Lucie, they sent me a present for helping them to celebrate their 200th post!
This is a bird with feathers (!) and catnip inside; he also makes a funny noise when mum throws him. The first time I heard it I got a big fluffy tail because I didn't know what it was!
These are special kitty snacks from Three Dog Bakery! I am waiting for mum to open them for me.This is a mouse on a bouncy string! I like him a lot.
And this is another mouse on a bouncy string. I have played with this toy the most so far.
Thanks Addie and Lucie, my presents are totally awesome! I have the best friends!

Easy like Sunday morning

This is what I plan to do today everypup and everykitty. It's a bit chilly out so I'm keeping it toasty inside. You should all find your own sunbeam to lay in.

Don't forget to vote in the poll for my bodyguard! Results will be revealed on Tuesday!

Why I love blogging

I don't know if you have met my friends Milo and Alfie. They are blogging kitties in the UK, just little things, both less than a year old. Anyway, they have shared this marvellous award with me!
*As a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging.
*To seek the reason why we all love blogging.
*Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it.
*Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award.
*Answer the Award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging.
*Tag and distribute the Award to as many people as you like.
*Don’t forget to notify the Award receivers and put their links in your post.

So I have to talk about why I love blogging. That won't be hard, here are my top five reason that I love blogging.
  1. I get to meet all sorts of amazing friends around the world
  2. I get to show of my pretty face (when I am not running away from the camera)
  3. I met my handsome boyfriendcat MrSippi
  4. I met my bestest friend Zimmie
  5. I get to spend quality time with mum while we are blogging
I am going to share this award with the following friends:
Wilbur, Steve and Kat
Ozzie the Ozmonster
MrSippi, Mama, Thor and Marco Polo

The Army of Four
Tia, Sitka and Cornelia Marie

Thanks again, Milo and Alfie!

Don't forget to vote in my poll!

Time to vote

So now it's time to decide who should be my new bodyguard. Voting will be open until this Sunday, so please help me out!

Purrr S: ignore the bit on the poll where it says answers 4 and 5. Mum is USELESS sometimes!

New bodyguard part 3

Finally, the third contender for the bodyguard position. This is Timmy. Mum and dad got him when they were in Kakadu National Park a while back.
Timmy is very small but I think he could be ferocious. He usually hangs out on the front of the fan heater - he has magnets in his feet so he can climb walls and fridges and other sideways things. That could be an advantage in a bodyguard. Timmy is only about the size of my head.

Please remember to come back tomorrow and vote for your choice in my new bodyguard poll!

New bodyguard part 2

This is Bazza. He is a very large and mean looking crocodile. Mum and dad got him for me when they went to Darwin a few years ago. He usually lives on the middle shelf of my cat tower.
He's quite large, much bigger than I am. I refused to pose for a photo next to him so you can't tell his size properly.
He has big scary teeth so I think he could be a good bodyguard, but I am not sure how fast he is, and whether he has the ability to keep the pupparazzi out of my face.

New bodyguard part 1

I hope everypup and kitty had a lovely easter yesterday. We didn't do much in my house - mum and dad went to lunch at grandma's but they didn't bring any snacks home for me so I'm pretending it never happened.

This is Alex. He is the alligator I won in Steve, Kat and Wilbur's Day of Blogs last year.
He has spent the last eight months watching over my purple Huffle bed and doing a very good job so I am considering him for the job of my bodyguard. Do you think he has what it takes?

I think he looks pretty scary close up. Something about those beady eyes. Alex is medium sized, a little bit smaller than I am. He runs close to the ground.
For the next few days I will be featuring potential candidates for this position. There will be a poll on my blog on Thursday so please make sure you come back and vote.

Happy Easter

To all my friends right around the world, I hope you all have a wonderful easter. Here's hoping this guy visits you and brings you something tasty!

Is it just me...

funny pictures of dogs with captions

or does this look like our Queen Meeshka?

I realised that I forgot to share the lovely roses I got yesterday! So to everypup and everykitty who comments over the Easter weekend (yesterday - Friday - right through to Monday), please accept the roses as a gift from me!

Mixed Bag

These pink roses are given to friends, bringing them a sweet and fruitful day. Those who receive these roses as a gift need to pass it on to ten friends to show them you care. And to those who received the roses, it's to show you are never forgotten.

This week, I've received this lovely bunch of roses twice! From my friend Ozzie (the kitty, not the husky), and from the Army of Four. Thanks everypup and kitty, you are too kind. Mum says she should be allowed to share the roses but I think I'd like to have them near my purple Huffle bed. After all, they were given to me, not mum.

In other news, my friend Edda's mum had to go into hospital to have her baby early in a big emergency yesterday. It would be very nice if you could go and visit her blog and paw some good thoughts for her mum - she and the baby are still in hospital and could use all the good vibes they can get.

Fashionista

Ages ago, when Barack Obama was inaugurated as the President of the USA (for those of you living under a rock :), there was a lot of fuss made about the hat worn by Aretha Franklin when she sang.
Personally, I think it looks good. I don't know what the big deal was.

Cat Tower

Long before I moved in with mum and dad, they had poo-face Salvador and he had a cat tower. It's pretty cool, about 1.5 meters tall, with five levels and a tunnel. Here is a picture.

Can you see what is wrong here? There is so much of mum and dad's stuff on it that I can't even sit on the tower properly! The tunnel part is full of Apple products (just at the top of the picture where you can't quite see) (mum why do you need two iPods?), the bottom shelf has bags and stuff, the second level has a crocodile! and the level where I am sitting with the little house has magazines and mum's spare mouse for the mac. Above that you can see two camera bags, plus the box that holds the eleventy million cords and chargers that belong to all the cameras (because all the cameras that live in this house are not shown in this photo).

I'm thinking of staging a protest.

A special delivery for Huffle Mawson

The other day when mum got home from work and brought the mail inside with her, there was a special envelope addressed to me, Huffle Mawson! It was from Mason Dixie and was my prize for entering the Blog Award Design competition she had a little while back.
I didn't win the competition but I think I came second. Thanks again to everypup and kitty who voted for me. Mason said if I had only entered one design I probably would have won easily! Oh well. It was good fun anyway.

Thanks Mason Dixie, my card and magnet with MY picture on it is awesome!

A Week of Sleeping, Part 4

This is one of my favourite places to sleep, on the couch near the television so I can watch the cricket whilst catching up on my naps. I have three cushions at my back, and there is another space behind my tail so I have plenty of room to stretch if I want to.

I don't like anyone to sit too close to me on the couch, usually I will get up and move if someone sits near me. I need my personal space.

A Week of Sleeping, Part 3

I know you've seen this photo before but this is one my favourite spots to sleep in, especially when the sun is shining. If you let the sun heat up the dirt in the parsley pot first, then you can be toasty from underneath as well!

A Week of Sleeping, Part 2

Unlike my lucky friend Wilbur, we do not have a fireplace in our house so I have to find my own toasty places to sleep when it's cold.

When your mum is putting clean sheets on the bed is always a good idea! There will be a nice doona (duvet, comforter, quilt) all scrunched up nicely for you to snuggle into.
I highly recommend this position.

Huzzy Wednesday

Update: once it turns to April 1 in the rest of the world, it's my friend Wilbur's 4th birthday! Happy birthday Wilbur!
