Camouflage

As you know, Polie was sacked as my body guard because he did a bad job. Daisy told him, "You're Fired!" in her best Donald Trump voice. He hasn't spoken to me since, I don't know why.

Anyway, I have noticed that Salvador does a good job of avoiding the flashy beast in our house. Yesterday when he had just woken up from a nap (and therefore wasn't awake enough to try and hit me), I asked him how he did it. (We all know painting him black was a miserable failure)

He said that I needed to camouflage myself, like he does out in the garden. I asked him how he hid himself in our pathetic garden, and he asked me if I had ever seen him in there. I said no, of course, because I haven't. He said it was all due to camouflage. So I gave it my best shot next time I saw mum with the flashy beast.

Do you think it worked?

I heard a rumour

I heard a rumour that my best pup-bud's brother Dave is getting a special visitor today. Hollybbb, if you decide you don't like Dave that much because his ears aren't straight or his collar isn't on right, I will introduce you to Uncle Buckley. But honestly, I can't see that happening. Dave is cool (obviously not as cool as Zim, but who could be?). Can't wait to see the photos from that meeting!

Today it's raining at home. I don't like the rain, it makes my furs all wet and yucky. So I am inside where it's dry and warm.

I have noticed that the war between Wilbur and Khyra is escalating. Wilbur, if you need to leave the country in a hurry, just come and stay with me. Maybe we can gang up on Salvador and send him packing.

Sunday Scratchings

Last night mum and dad went out again. That's TWO nights in a row they've been out and left me alone in this house. Frankly, it's not good enough and I will be complaining to the RSPCA as soon as I can steal mum's mobile phone.

This morning mum did redeem herself by letting me sleep on her lap under the doona while she drank her coffee in bed. I was even really well behaved and didn't spill any or anything!

Princess Eva and her new brother Brice got to meet my best friend Zimmie this weekend. I'm so jealous! I want to go to Kansas too. Mum says it's a very long way from Melbourne; you can't get there by bus or anything like that. I still say we should go.

Salvador is still being put outside when mum and dad go out. It makes life very peaceful for me during the day.

Mid week mayhem

Huffle has scary eyes! Well, can you see how they are reflected in the big shiny tiles that I am lying on? I was a bit tired last night after chasing that stupid red dot around for ages; I'm trying to kill it but for some reason I can never quite get it. But I will keep trying! And look how my eyes look shiny and blue. They're not really, they are more greeny-yellow. And they generally don't glow like that.

Salvador was put out the back door this morning when mum and dad left for work. Ha!

Did I mention I have my very own computer now? Mum got her new iMac thingy a few weeks ago so she has let me use the Sony Vaio for my blog. It's very good, and we have wireless internet so I can have the laptop in bed with me, even when I'm upstairs guarding the spare bed (MY bed) from intruders.

Ha Ha Salvador's in trouble!

Salvador is in BIG trouble at the moment. Dad got home last night from work and discovered that Salvador had left him a "present" in his wardrobe. Dad knew it wasn't me because I always use my litterbox. Salvador now cannot be left in the house alone (which means less opportunity for him to torment me).

Ammy, Zim, Khyra and Lola, I'm having mum bake us some cookies for when you get here. How long does it take to drive from Kansas to Australia? And remember, Melbourne is at the bottom of the country so it might take even longer.

Mum tried to take some photos of me last night. But I wasn't in the mood. I kept looking at her but as soon as I saw the flashy thing on her camera go off, I would look away:
So that is a lovely picture of the top of my head.

Monday morning huffing

It's Monday morning which means mum and dad have gone to work and I am left to my own devices in the house. What should I do?

Let's face it, I'll probably end up doing this:
Somepuppy's comments yesterday suggested that Salvador and I should pose for a picture together. Let me tell you right now that is never going to happen. He doesn't like me and only comes near me to hit me. So I stay away from him. If Lola or Ammy want to come over and "play" with him, please feel free! I'll be home every evening this week to open the front door. And this is a pup-friendly house, mum loves pups and so does dad.

Poo Face Salvador

Some of you yesterday said you had never seen a picture of Salvador before. That's because he is mean to me and this is my blog, not his! But just to show you that I can share, here is another picture of him looking mean.

You can't really tell from the pictures but he is a lot bigger than I am. In this picture he is sitting on top of his cat tower and plotting the downfall of everyone in this house (he forgets that mum buys the food and dad gives it to him).

Today mum had coffee in bed and I nearly spilt it everywhere! I jumped on her lap and headbutted her hand that was holding the coffee cup. It was nearly a coffee tsunami in the bed. It would have been really funny. But because she managed not to spill any, I dipped my tail in when she wasn't looking and she found some black furs at the bottom.

Today is cold and rainy so I'll be doing this all day...

Saturday sleepiness

It's been a busy week in Huffleland, what with Grandpa being in hospital and all. The good news is he will be going home on Monday and should make a complete recovery! Mum is very happy and so is Grandma. Thankyou everyone for your kind thoughts. They definitely helped!

I want to show you a picture of Salvador the poo-face. Here he is hogging dad's lap.

Doesn't he know that's MY dad and MY lap? Only I'm allowed to sit on dad's lap and look pathetic like that. Although, he does look kind of dorky so we can all laugh at him.

It's pretty cold outside today so I am going to spend all day in my Huffle bed and relax. Mum had coffee in bed this morning but I didn't go and share it (sorry Zim) because I was busy napping in my own bed.

Brave new Huffle

So last night, after mum got home from her trip WITH NO NEW MOUSES, we were all sitting watching telly and Salvador was scratching at the front door like he does when he wants to come in. I was sitting on dad's lap at the time being a purring Huffle but he got up to let Salvador in.

When Salvador walked past me, I stuck out my paw and hit him in the face! I felt very brave and I knew mum would stick up for me if he tried to hit me back. But he just looked surprised and kept walking. This could be the start of a whole new situation in Huffle Land. Mum and dad were laughing so hard they nearly fell off the couch.

Normally I run up to Salvador to hit him but I get scared at the last second and run away again. Not any more! And anyway, if he tried to attack me all my friends and the troopers in the Army of Four would defend me (I hope).

Brave Huffle!

Busy times

Mum's away so I had to try and do this post all by myself. It's hard to type when you don't have thumbs, and you have long claws like me (until Queen Meeshka's claws are back, mine are available for her use).

Anyway after all my hard work this weekend I thought I'd show you a picture of me playing with my mouses. Not Roger; I haven't decided if I really like him yet. For starters, he takes up a lot of room in my bed! This is my oldest, most favourite mouse ever.
See how ferocious I look? I have been practicing that look on Salvador so he will leave me alone. I'm not sure how well it's working but he hasn't tried to hit me over the head for a couple of weeks now.

New instructions

My attorney at claw, Queen Meeshka, has informed me that I am being too kind to mum by not putting any fur in her coffee cup on the weekends. So, I will do the right thing and accidentally dip my tail in next time (mum, if you're reading this, I'm just saying it to humour Meeshka. Otherwise I really mean it).

Meanwhile, I was so tired from all my hard work yesterday that I had to just lie down last night. I didn't even have the strength to make it to my Huffle bed. I think Zimmie's right: I may have overdone it with all my efforts.

Mum is going away again tomorrow for three days. That means I will be left with dad (who does feed me, so that's ok) and Salvador (who still hates me). Maybe I should overcome my fear of being in the car and go with mum. Dad doesn't wake up and let me under the doona like mum does. I'm not sure what to do about that!

Bed Domination Rule #3

In order to properly dominate the bed, send mum away for a night. Then sleep in the middle. Dad will not take over the rest of the bed because he doesn't want to squash you. Bed domination achieved!

It works really well when you spread out in the middle of the bed and sleep the "wrong" way around. Then you can really take over.

Mum has been away for two days with work. Did she bring me any new mouses from this "work"? No! Honestly, I don't know where I'm going wrong with her. And this morning she picked up all the mouses I have strategically placed around the house and put them away. Don't worry, by the time she gets home later today they will be back where they belong... spread around the house where everyone can admire them (except Salvador, he is not allowed to play with my mouses).

I'm honoured

Turbo has made me an honorary husky! He said, "an Honorary Husky award is for someone who has been helpful or supportive to the husky cause."

I am very supportive of the Husky cause, and frankly, if it means that I can somehow do away with the annoying Salvador, I'll do anything it takes! But I know that the husky cause includes freaking out your human owners and causing as much trouble as possible, so I try to do that whenever I can.

Some of my favourite blogs are by huskies, so this is really a tremendous honour. I'm going to show my award to Salvador and tell him to be very, very afraid.

I've just noticed that dad has left the keys to the new car on the bench. When mum's not looking, I might go for a spin.

Which celebrity is Salvador?

He threatened to beat me up if I didn't post his results as well. Typical.

Snoop Dogg

Smooth & Cool

Swingin' hard and keeping it real in his 'hood, your little homey is Snoop Doggy Dogg, yo.

Bustin' out superfly vocals that keep his lady friends perched, ready and on the edge of their seats, Salvador knows how to have a good time with his peeps and is not ashamed to show it. A big fan of the bling bling, Salvador is fashion fit and costume conscious, even willing to go a little over the top at times. Rich like butter and phat with flavor when he rolls, Salvador is well aware of the heads he turns along the way. Often seen hangin' with the big boys, Salvador is one tough cookie and knows how to paw his way out of a confrontation. But despite his occasionally feisty flare, Salvador is romantic and poetic, a true-blue Casanova through and through.

Nicknames

I have plenty of nicknames. You probably don't even realise it but Huffle Mawson is one of my nicknames. My real name is Stella.

Mum called me Hufflepuff after Harry Potter because I huff at things. A lot. Then she shortened it to Huffle and added Mawson after the antarctic explorer, because I like to explore things. I am never afraid to go and check out a new place (except the v-e-t, but only crazy cats like going there). Even Salvador (grumpy old man) doesn't like going to the v-e-t.

Other nicknames: Huffy, Huffley, Huffle Telly Show Cat, Psycho Huffle, Huffel Pawson, Huffle Gump, Huffypuff, Huffley Puffley, Little Black Cat, Little Girl, Huffle Dum Dum, Huffle Maniac and any combination of the above. You can see mum and dad are not very inventive.

I know my name is Huffle, and I come when mum calls me. I don't always come when dad calls me. I don't know about being called Stella, I ignore that one.

I'm so excited

See that badge under my title there? That means the Army of Four said I could be a trooper with them! Supreme Commander Stormy said there are some kitties like me already in their troops so I would fit right in. I'm so excited. I wonder if I will have to undertake any covert missions? Because I'm black, I can be invisible sometimes!

This morning dad had to get up at quarter to dawn (his words not mine). I think that meant at 5.30am. He was driving some friends to the airport. Mum and I stayed in bed til 6am, then she got up and I stayed in bed to guard it from intruders. You never know when Salvador might try and sneak in. He isn't to be trusted, you know. He doesn't blog, he's not black and he's not in the army. Very suspicious if you ask me.

It's a long weekend in Australia. Tomorrow is ANZAC Day and since Grandpa fought in the Vietnam War we think it's important. As far as I'm concerned, it means mum stays in bed longer because she doesn't have to go to work. But since I'm in the army now, it's important for me to recognise ANZAC Day and have an extra nap in honour of the occasion.

Tired

I've had a busy weekend. Some of mum's friends came over yesterday (they didn't bring me any new mouses - this is getting out of hand) but they did play with me and tell me how pretty I am. Well duh, as if I didn't know that already.

Saturday mum did some washing so I had to supervise the clothes being hung out on the line. If I don't watch her mum gets it wrong sometimes. Then I was tired and had to have a nap. It was a nice sunny day so I lay out in the backyard and soaked up some rays.

This morning mum caught me chasing my tail again. What can I say, if I had new mouses to play with I wouldn't have to do it. Speaking of mouses, my favourite grey one has gone missing. I'm blaming Salvador. He still hates me.

Turbo has put up the new food pyramid that we all need to be aware of. I have asked if I would be allowed to substitute ham for bacon, as I really like ham. If he says no I will just eat bacon, like he says I should.

Winter is coming

It's much colder these days. I don't really like the cold. But it does mean that mum doesn't complain when I get under the doona.

It was a busy weekend in my house. It was dad's birthday on Saturday so everyone went out and left me at home alone (Salvador was nowhere to be seen but that's a good thing because it means he couldn't hit me over the head, like he did on Friday).

Sunday I had to do a lot of sunbaking in the backyard. Very busy times.

Mum's new computer is arriving today! That means I might be able to do videos on my blog (if mum can figure it out and explain it to me, that is).

Storm cat

Last night there was a big storm at our house. I don't like storms. I am afraid of the thunder. There was lots of thunder and lightning, and heavy rain. I was in the backyard when it started raining so I had to run inside really fast.

When the thunder came I went upstairs and hid under the spare bed. Mum looked for me for ages before she found me. I didn't come out til mum and dad went to bed, then I came and sat in the bathroom with them while they brushed their teeth. I'm glad no-one tries to brush my teeth.

Salvador slept on the mum and dad's bed so I had to sleep downstairs in my bed. I'm sure he does it just to annoy me. Luckily there was no more thunder.

HOT!!!!

I don't really like it when it's too hot. Today it's 39deg C here. I'm inside where it's air conditioned. I went outside for a bit before but it was too hot.

I finally convinced mum to take some photos of my mouses to show you. Here are all my current favourites lined up against the wall:

Here is my all time favourite mouse that mum bought for me when I first came to live here:

He used to have a tail, and ears, and proper eyes, but they sort of got broken when I threw him against the wall. He is the best mouse though. And you can't see from the photo but his plastic insides have teeth marks in them from when I play too rough. And the fur at the back is missing. I don't care, I still love him.

Salvador still hates me.
