I am going to revert to my original plan of poking my tongue out at the pupparazzi and hope that it puts them off.
Wish me luck!

Fun on Fridays with Huffle Mawson
A lot of my friends have been complaining about the cold and snow that they have at the moment. Except the sibes; they love the snow. But for those of you who do not like the cold, please feel free to come over to my house and hang out with me this weekend. It is going to be over 30 deg C/86F each day and we can all hang out on the sunny deck and eat some ham. Maybe I can convince mum to get us some prawns too.
Who wants to come over?

Questions and Answers
A few people have asked me some questions lately so I thought I would take this chance to answer them.
Several of you wanted to know if I got some ham to celebrate Australia Day with. I am very happy to report that mum went to the shop in the morning and brought home some ham just for me. It was very tasty!
There were no fireworks at home last night, but they had some in Sydney. That's far enough away from me that I wasn't bothered.
Stella asked if the rumour was true that I had been named Australian Cat of the Year. That's news to me but I'm happy to accept the title if they want to give it to me!

Australia Day
Today was the day in 1788 Captain Arthur Phillip, commander of the First Fleet of eleven convict ships from Great Britain and the first governor of New South Wales, arrived at Sydney Cove. The raising of the Union Jack there symbolised British occupation of the eastern half of the continent claimed by Captain James Cook on 22 August in 1770. The purpose of the day is to unite all Australians through celebration. It's a good thing.

Rock climbing with Huffle Mawson
As part of our garden renovations last year, this little patch of garden was put in between the kitchen window and the water tanks.
It's VERY good for an explorer cat to practice their rock climbing on.
And when your mum calls you and tells you to stop stomping all over the garden, you can say you were just doing a perimeter check.
That's a very important job, you know.

Sunshine is good
When it is really hot outside, mum keeps all the blinds down to try and keep it cool inside the house. But when she opens the blinds, I get to lay in toasty patches of sunlight like this one.
And then the evil pupparazzi come along and disturb the peace. I wonder if I can make a citizen's arrest and send them to jail for that.

The EVIL flashy beast
Remember last week I promised to show you the evil flash that mum uses to take my photos sometimes? Here it is.
Now you can see why I hate it. And I have put my iPhone next to it so you can see just how big it really is. The head of it rotates so you can make the flash point in any direction.
I really hate that flash.
(For Zimmie's mum - it's a Nikon Speedlight SB600)

Awards and stuff
Have you met my friends Annie, Nicki and Derry? They are three very cool kitties living in Ontario Canada. It's very cold there at the moment. Anyway, they don't get too many visitors so if you could drop in and say hello I'd really appreciate it.
AND they've given me this fabulous award - the Superior Scribbler Award. Thanks kitties!
And my dear friend Sakura in Romania gave me this award too:

Sorry this photo is a bit dark. Every time the pupparazzi opened the flash I would look away.

I think I was in the middle of a big yawn when the evil pupparazzi took this photo. I have no privacy at all!

My new collar
This is my old collar:
And this is my new collar that mum bought for me last week. It is blue velvet and very fancy!
The end of the collar was a bit long but not quite long enough to tuck into the loopy thing so I spent some quality time chewing on it on Friday night before dad realised what I was doing. So he and mum performed surgery to remove the end of my collar. Dad complained that it was all soggy. Ha!

Monday Close Up
In our backyard, there is a wall that separates the rest of garden from the bit with the water tanks. Apparently they are "not pretty enough" to be visible all the time. Whatever.
My point is, the deck covers most of the yard but behind this wall, there is concrete. And it gets very toasty and warm in the morning so I like to go out there and roll around.
Then the pupparazzi finds me and takes a bazillion photos. Hmpf.

Sneak attack
Sometimes when I am escaping from the pupparazzi, one of their offsiders tricks me by saying "ham" or "prawn".
So I turn around:
And then I am very disappointed.

How not to photograph a black cat
Sometimes people leave comments on my blog asking how my mum gets such good photos of me.
Well, I am here to tell you that it doesn't always work that way. Here is a prime example:
Mum says photographing a black cat is very difficult, especially indoors without a lot of natural light. That's why you see so many photos of me on my deck, or on my balcony.
Mum has to do a lot of post-processing in Photoshop too, to make sure you can see my face properly in a lot of photos. I say if she was a better photographer it wouldn't be such a problem. She says if I was more willing to be photographed it wouldn't be such a problem.
I think we'll agree to disagree on this one.

Recovering
After all the excitement of the new year, life is getting back to normal today. I am celebrating by having a nap in my purple Huffle bed.
See that bag? That's my Huffle Duffel and it has lots and lots of my toys in it!
