Competitive Napping Event Day 2

I hope you're all ready for another round of some excellent napping.  I'm really glad that someone else is doing the judging; there's no way I can choose between you all!

First up today are Shiloh and Shasta.  Is there anything cuter than a pile of sleepy beagles?
Shiloh'n Shasta

This is the beautiful Sei-Chan, showing off those pink toes. Teddy is very obsessed with toes and is quite overcome by this picture.
SeiChan

Scylla, I can here all the parents squeeing from here! Look at that belleh!
Scylla Sleeping

Next up is Sarge, accessorising with a toy and a jaunty scarf. So stylish!
Sarge Competitive Nap

This is Sammy. My mum was ready to give him the gold medal when this picture arrived! Lucky she's not judging, that's all I can say.
Sammy

This is Roo. I'm pretty sure I don't need to add any commentary here.
Roo

This is Reuben. Has anyone else ever bitten their tongue in their sleep? Or is that just my mum.
Reuben

I always love a good bit of sitting-up-sleeping, as demonstrated by Rama here. By the way, even though Rama looks like Mango Man, Rama is actually a cane corso (pronounced kah-nay korso). So handsome!
Rama

This is EK, blissed out in the sun. Heavenly.
EK

Look at Peter, from Purrchance to Dream. My mum is a sucker for those curled paws.
PeterPurrchancetoDream

Obviously watching TV proved too much for Pasha. But look at the belleh floof!
Pasha

Next up we have Oskar. I think that might be Moe in the background if you look carefully too. Oskar loves a mound of quilts like nothing else.
Oskar

This is Only, from the Wild Cat Woods clan. I'm pretty sure that sitting up AND having crossed paws while sleeping scores very highly.
Only

This is Mr Darcy. I'm speechless.
Mr Darcy

This is Mr Bingley. Can you tell he and Mr Darcy are related?
Mr Bingley

Well, that's it for day two of competition. We have three more days of excellent competitors to come! See you tomorrow.

Competitive Napping Event Day 1

Let's Get Ready to Rumble!  Um... quietly.  That's right, it's competitive napping time!

This is how it's going to work.  Today, and over the following four days, I am going to post all the entries for competitive napping.  They will be posted in reverse alphabetical order, so if you had more than one entry from your family, they may not necessarily appear together.

Then NEXT Monday, the medal ceremonies will be held.  HuffleDad and my bestest friend Zimmie's mum will be the impartial judges.

First up, we have Zoey from Zoolatry.  Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture?
Zoey Zoolatry

Next up is Zoey (and Harley) from ZeeZoey:
Zoey and Harley
Those crossed back paws give Zoey a certain edge, don't you think?

Our next competitor is Winston. If this isn't napping of the finest order, I don't know what is. Winston

Next up is tortie girl Willow. Boy does she know how to nap in style!
Willow

Here are Whisky and Ling, they're not synchronised but they're napping alright!
WhiskyandLing

Next up, Weenie and Mona, the Texas dachsies. That is some serious napping going on right there.
WeenieMona

What I'd like to know is, how does Tucker the great dane manage to make such a small nap pile?  Where are the legs?
TuckerGreatDane

This is Treasure. I didn't know windows could be used as a prop for sleeping!
Treasure

Next up, a stylish French competitor - Tommy from the Chans. Sleeping with a prop is very clever, Tommy!
TommyChan

Now, this is Reuben's cousin Tater Tot. This is one of the most impressive sleeping positions I've seen in a long time. (if you don't know Reuben, his entry is coming up in the next day or two)
TaterTot

This is Sweet.  It's a bit hard to fault her name, isn't it?  Look at those paws!
Sweet

This is Star from the Celestial Kitties. I'm pretty sure her back end is higher than her head. How does she not get a head rush??
StarCelestialKitties

This is Socks. Helping the human with their work, no doubt. Good job, socks!
Socks

This is Sneaky Pie from the Kwee Cats. Look at that head tilt!
SneakyPieCompNap

Jasper submitted this picture of behalf of Smokey, who doesn't have a blog. Just as well, because look at that napping form!
Smokey

That's it for day one of competition, folks! Tune in tomorrow for the next round!

I am feeling very Olympic today

Today I thought I'd show you our entries in the Olympic events.

I am entering the Balance Beam over at Cory's place:

And so is Teddy:

And Teddy is in the Hiding competition at Quill's:

Teddy is also in Fierceful Yawning at Kashim's blog, and I am in the secret Strong Cat competition at Quill's. You'll have to wait til the events start to see those photos.

Words Fail Me on Wednesday

Teddy 189

Honestly. Does anyone know what he's doing here?

Miraculous Monday

This is me and Teddy in the same photo! It hardly ever happens. I was sunning myself on the driveway near the neighbour's car and he came out to annoy me.

Mancat Monday

See how manly I am in my mancatly pose on the not-quite-finished deck?

Teddy 178

Mum keeps telling me to get my floof in order but I just don't know what she's talking about.

Are you ready for the Olympics? There are less than two weeks to go now!

Huffle says we got a message from her web host saying the mailbox was nearly full so if you submitted a picture and didn't get a reply from her please try again. Also, if you wanted to enter but missed the deadline you can have until this Wednesday (July 18) to get your entries in.

Monday Movie Madness

I started out trying to attack the bathmat. I do not like that bathmat and I attack it every single day. I think I'm slowly beating it into submission.

Anyhow, I suddenly realised that my tail, known as Something Like Bob, was being naughty! So I had to try and teach Something Like Bob a lesson.

By the way, does anyone know what that tall white thing is?

Monday Deck Update

This is me sitting on the new deck.  It is not finished.  We don't even have a back fence at the moment - that's the neighbour's house you can see behind me - so I am not allowed out the back unless mum or dad are with me.

Huffle 207

One day, when the deck is finished and our back fence is up, I will be able to spend my days out here snoozing in the sun.

Maybe.

Don't forget to send me your entries for Competitive Snoozing!

Sunny Saturday

Here is a photo of me looking cute in the sunshine.

Huffle 407

This is from our old house, with my deck. I am sorry to say the deck at our new house is not finished yet; the rain keeps getting in the way.

The sporting event of the year!

Yes, that's right, it's Cat-O-Lympics time again!

Two years ago the Cat Blogosphere hosted the Cat-O-Lympics and everyone had such a good time that I thought we'd do it again.  If you don't remember the last time, or you weren't even blogging then, you can check out the event on my blog here, here, here, here, here and here.  Other cats hosted different events on their blogs too, and that's what is going to happen this year.

The event I am hosting is Competitive Napping. The winner of this event last time around was Tuna from the Kitty Stampede blog, as you can see here:

Tuna&Turtles

Tuna was a worthy winner.

And now it's your turn. From 27 July, this blog and several others will be hosting Cat-O-Lympic events. Our event is Competitive Napping, and here is Teddy to show you how it's done.

The rules are simple. You must be napping. If you're napping in a place where you shouldn't be, then so much better.

Teddy 74

Yes, that's Teddy in the washing machine.

Alternatively, you can nap in a dramatic pose. See Tuna's photo above, or this one from Teddy:

Teddy 60

So those are the rules. Here's how to enter:
  1. You must submit your entry to me no later than Friday 13th July (whatever time zone you're in).
  2. You must email me your picture, together with the name of the cat/dog competing AND a link to your blog by sending it to huffleAThufflemawsonDOTnet.
  3. Competing in this event means that you are giving me permission to use your picture for the Cat-O-Lympics 2012.
  4. Your picture does not have to be new but you must not have used it in the previous Cat-O-Lympics 2010.
  5. Each cat or dog can enter each event once.
  6. Entry is open to all cats and dogs.  You do not need to have a blog to enter.

Here is a list of the other events being hosted during the Olympics:

Allie, Ellie, Tamir, Cubby and Clifford are hosting Smackdown. Information on how to enter will be up soon on their blog.

Wally, Ernie and Zoey are hosting Synchronised Snoozing. Check their blog in coming days for information on how to enter.

Cory and her family are hosting  Balance Beam.  Information on how to enter will be up soon on their blog.

The Katnip Lounge kitties are hosting Counter Surfing.  Information on how to enter will be up soon on their blog.

Does anyone remember us?

I can so too be a good boy! Teddy 168

No Teddy, this is how you be a good cat. Huffle 201

I know it has been a very long time since we posted (thanks MUM!) but hopefully in the next couple of weeks things will get back to normal. And stand by on Sunday next week for a big competition announcement!

You know the Olympics are on this year, right?

Bad BAD kitten boy

If you saw this in the hallway: Teddy 173

And then you saw this outside: Teddy 175

You would think that would be enough excitement for one morning. But somecat wasn't satisfied. He added one large dead mouse, and a pile of vomit, to the mix. Dad was so unimpressed. This was all discovered at 4am.

Teddy 174

He's not right in the head.

Happy Easter everyone!

Hi everyone.  I know I have been away for a while but my secretary has been super busy and has not had time to help me blog.  I'm still getting ham to eat, though, so that's good news.  Thank you to everyone who has left me messages wondering where I am.

Anyway Teddy and I want to wish all our friends and families a happy Easter, and don't forget, chocolate is not for cats!

Does anyone know what happened to my ears?

Don't forget us!

We are on holidays for a couple of weeks.  Here is a photo of me, and a photo of Teddy, so you don't forget what we look like.
