Huffle Mawson's Medical Monday

Two weeks ago, I had a very bad day.  I threw up five times in one day and that is a lot for any kitty.  I also cried a bit when dad picked me up.  Dad was very worried about me (so was mum) so I had to go to the dreaded vet the next day.  I peed on the carrier while dad tried to put me in it, so he knows how I feel about that.

The vet weighed me, and I am getting smaller!  I only weight 2.95kg which is not very much at all.  I also have a dodgy hip (that is the technical term for it) from when I was badly treated as a young cat.  The vet says I am starting to get arthritis in my hip as well which makes me feel sick and very sore and tired.

So now I get to eat kitten food, which is the best food ever.  I am allowed to eat as much as I want because I am a bit on the skinny side.  Teddy is not allowed to eat any of my kitten food, despite his best efforts.  I also had a course of Meloxicam on my food, which I didn't really like but it seems to have helped as yesterday I sprinted up and down the hallway all day, having fun.  I am feeling much better now.



AND I caught a mouse last week!  Well, Teddy caught a mouse and brought it in the house and let it go.  At 2am.  Mum and dad were much less excited than I was, especially since I caught it all by myself!  I wasn't happy when dad took it from me either.

p.s. that photo me is a few months old, I am looking a bit thinner and have more white whiskers these days.

Ask Huffle

Welcome to the first in a series of posts where I answer your questions!  I'm going to answer them in the order they were asked, so this could take a few days.  Don't worry, I won't forget any of the questions!

Firstly, Sparkle said "You don't talk about food that much, Huffle - why don't you tell us a little bit about your food likes and dislikes, and Teddy's too?"

I refuse to eat any tinned food that isn't Fancy Feast.  Mum and dad have tried every kind of food under the sun, but I won't eat anything else.  My favourites are the ones with delicate sauce.  I also like the beefy gravy type.

I LOVE prawns and ham, but don't get either of them very much.  Poor deprived Huffle.  I don't like other kinds of fish by itself, just the ones in the delicate sauce.

We also have t/d food available all day. There is a secret bowl of Eukanuba kitten food upstairs too, and we both eat that. My vet said it was okay for me to eat some so I do!

Teddy eats anything because he is a pig.

Boxing Day

Oh I have such a full belleh after Christmas! I don't think I can move.

Ready for my trip!

Not too much to say today, pups and kitties. I'm leaving on my big trip tomorrow so I'm napping lots and trying to find some way of bringing the Fancy Feast with me so I don't starve.
I don't have a bag; maybe I should steal mum's Z Bag to take with me?

Ham!

Tia, you might not want to look at the pictures today because they show me eating ham and I know you're not allowed to have any.

When mum opens the container with the ham in it, I know exactly what it sounds like and I come running over to the fridge! Because I am a good girl and don't nag her to feed me, I usually get a bit of ham of my very own.

Post Blog-a-thon exhaustion!

It was a very busy day yesterday, what with having to support Steve, Kat and Wilbur (and the Kapp Pack) through their Day of Blogs! And then the surprise of having Wilbur turn up and play with me! We had a great time, as you can see:
This is us sitting outside on my wooden horse plotting the downfall of Salvador. As you may have read in one of Wilbur's posts yesterday, we came up with the plan of spray painting Salvador black so mum would confuse him with me, and then follow him with the flashy beast all the time. It worked really well for about two hours, until Salvador went out in the rain and all the paint washed off him. I knew we should have used the lead-based stuff. So I am back to the drawing board on that one.

I also won a stuffed alligator (I hope it tastes like chicken!) and the kitty magnets so I am very excited. My mum offered to stay up with Steve, Kat and Wilbur's mum to keep her company in the middle of the night so they exchanged a lot of emails. I don't know why the mums had to stay awake, it was the pups and kitties doing all the hard work!

Anyway, Wilbur decided he wanted to go home to his mum (I don't blame him, I would too) so we dropped him at the supersonic jet this morning and I think he is home already. I am going to eat some gravy:

and then I am going to bed! I'm just sad that my best friend Zimmie couldn't come and visit me too. Perhaps now that Wilbur has done it, Zimmie can too!

Public Service Announcement

Yesterday my mum and I had a very interesting conversation with Khyra and her mum. It turns out that grapes (and sultanas, and raisins) are very bad for pups and can cause nasty things to happen. So, don't eat them! Post them all to Salvador.
