Pups and kitties, you will not believe what mum did to me on the weekend. I am still annoyed about and I don't know if I can forgive her for this.
Saturday night, she and dad were going out for dinner to celebrate her birthday. The balcony door was open and mum shut it and they left the house, got in the car and drove away. But what mum didn't know what that I was out on the balcony! I got locked out there!
I couldn't believe it. I meowed, I cried, I sat and contemplated what to do next. I couldn't go up, I couldn't go down, I was STUCK. Lucky it wasn't raining.
Eventually about three hours later mum and dad came home and I yelled at them from the balcony (which is right above the front door) and they freaked out and opened the front door and dad bolted up the stairs to let me back in. I was very unhappy and I told him so.
Then I came downstairs but I wouldn't talk to mum even though she tried to apologise to me. I don't know if I'll ever get over this.
How should I punish her?
p.s. even though I am not speaking to mum right now, she wants to thank everyone for the birthday wishes.

Oh dear I think your mum will have already been punished when she realised what they had done.. Poor you and poor mum.. Hugs GJ x
Oh dear! Poor darling Huffle! But you know what? Your mum probably feels so terrible about it all that you can milk her for treats and anything else you want for quite some time. Go for it!
Huffle, I think you need to have a chat with my momma Ellie...she had a similar incident happen to her. Mom and dad left one day to go out and about, and when they shut the back door, mom didn't realize Ellie tried to dash out. She got stuck between the screen door and the back door and was there for a couple of hours! She was hissed off, but pretty nice about it. She actually forgave everyone in about a nanosecond because they were obviously upset and fussed over her. Yes she got treats out of it too! Milk it.
That is so horrible! What if one of the evil birds had swooped in and taken you? What if a spider was out there? So many horrible things could have happened!
Meow,
Wilbur
She did WHAT?!?! I am aghast! Well... no, I'm a Siberian, but I am SHOCKED! I can't believe this from YOUR mom!!! No way. Maybe she was drugged. Maybe someone kidnapped her and your dad and MADE them leave you out there. And then they broke free and came to your rescue. Yeah. That's GOT to be it. Really.
I just can't see your mom doing this of her own free will.
Having said that, she owes you massive amounts of ham.
Play bows,
Zim
Oh, dear. I think your mum got a pretty bad scare, Huffle. I'm sure she wouldn't have done that deliberately. Forgiving her would show what an emotionally mature Cat you are. You know, take the high road. Besides, if you make nice, you might get extra kitty treats.
For a two pound tin of ham, and lots of cuddles, I would forgive her. She wouldn't mean to hurt you, Huff, you know that.
Forgive and forget!
Kisses,
Stella
Huffle!
I understand that you are not talking with your mom!
I hope she gave you something special after that!
Kisses and hugs

Oh no! How horrible! We think a good amount of ham is needed to heel those wounds.
yes Huffle, we agree with everbuddy....you need LOTS of ham. But that HAD to be scary! Are you sure you're OK?
Poor Huffle. That is terrible. Make sure she pays for it in treats and whatever else you want. Milk it for all it's worth.
The ONLY way she can make up for this is HAMMMMMMM!!! Really! Did you eat anything interesting while you were out there?
Ozzie and Zowie
poop in her shoes. ALL of her shoes. Yes, I know it'll take a lot of ham eating to accomplish it, but she deserves it, and she better be giving you lots of ham after that horrible thing.
Meeshka
Oh Huffle. That is so terrible! But, we do think your Mom is probably completely horrified about this. She luffs you very much.
Huffle, quick, your Mum is quite vulnerable now with all her feelings of guilt - go ask her for anything you want, like maybe a guarantee of ham every day for a year.
Woos, Phantom and Thunder
Oh God ! That's too bad :(
once time, I was locked in the cupboard, it was not cool ....
You didn't think to ask for ham? And lots of it? As penance?
I would have loved to be outside for a long time. I so rarely get out I would love every minute. Don't be too hard on your mum she loves you. Mum always checks where I am before she leaves, she once shut me in the closet for the day.
Oh dear Huffle.. poor you.
I believe your mom did it accidentally and she must feel really awful now.
Please forgive her.. Pleaseeee..
Love,
Alexia.
Oh you poor, sweet Huffle! I know your mum and dad feel awfully about leaving you out, so maybe after a bit of time passes, you can find it in your heart to forgive. (And Mum - Happy Birthday!)
Hugs xo
Sammie
I'm sure your Mummy feels sufficiently guilty, but milk it for all the treats you can!
Not talking to her is pretty good punishment. Humans hate that more than just about anything else.
Woo said she'd just had a birthday? Maybe she just forgot you were out there. That happens to humans when they get old, they forget. Watch out - next week she may forget to feed you or something else like that. Maybe its time to trade her in.
a-roos to yous,
Jack a-roo
OMC Huffle! How scary! 3 hours!
That is very scary...Mao just had a similar incident so he hurled, twice. Once in mom's bed and once on the floor...just sayin'
my mommy, daddy, and the daniel kitten left us for THREE WHOLE DAYS. they got back at an ungodly hour this morning.
as penance, the space heater has been on and i've had a sauna spot. then again, it's also -17F here.
I'm thinking something to do with shoes...
I'll let woo figure out the rest!

Huffle...we cannot believe this happened to you!! She definitely deserves the back of disrespect!
OMG - how could they do that to you???? That is so scary. I think they have scarred you for life and you must demand counselling sessions.
yes, you must get lots of ham. it will be easy - cause they feel bad. I know because sometimes mom goes in the laundry room, and I sneak in there, and then she closes the door and goes to bed, and I am there all night w/o food or water or litter, or even my bed. And Morgan and Maisie, and Laura don't even tell her I am knocking on the door, and then she finds me in the morning, and then she feels bad! And, I get really good food.
Morgans kitty, Josie
We cannot believe that your mum would do such a thing to you! You should pretend to be very scared of the balconty from now on, just to teach her a lesson!
next time, hide yourself in the wardrobe.
Poop on the carpet. That will teach them.
We are just glad you are safe, and you didn't try and climb down from the balcony.
HuffleMum, we don't know what to say... you're in trouble now!
Oh Huff ~ how terrible. It's a good job yoo didn't try to get down by yoourself. We think yoor Mom probably feels very guilty so don't be too hard on her!
Oh my gosh that is terrible! We can't believe they left you out - you have every right to be angry. I think she should give you lots of treats for an appology, at least the start of one!
Yikes!!!
My mum did that to Zowie once accidentally when Zowie got out the torn screen on the front door. It was very SCARY. But we did forgive mum. And she is very careful now to check and make sure everyone is inside before she shuts the doors.
I hope your mum gave you lots of cuddles and ham.
Oh hon trust me it's punishment enough when they realize they almost lost you. Don't break her heart even more. She didn't mean to!
Did you Huffle at her?
The Dingo used to punish us for being gone from the den. At first she'd "welcome" us home as first dog, cuz if she didn't her status would be lower than our 2nd dog, so she had to be first to us. she'd jump the fence and come to us. Then after abut 30 seconds of greeting, she'd walk away and bark at us, scolding us for being gone for so long.
i donnno... a couple of good scoldings, non cuddling and some huffles should do the trick!

We hope that you get over the traumatic experience and can eventually go back out on the balcony but we suggest that you keep your tail in the door like a jam. We also hope that your mom had a happy birthday. Is she old enough to drink alcoholic beverages now?
