Unfortunately Kodiak did not survive his surgery - the specialist discovered that his C2 and C3 vertebrae had been fused together, probably from birth, and on Friday the disc ruptured so badly that there was no chance he would recover. His hu-dad made the difficult decision to let him go.

You all know my friend Kodiak from the Thundering Herd, right? (If not, why not? Go over and say hi!) Well Kodiak and his housemates were on a camping holiday last week, and on Friday he suddenly collapsed as they were taking a walk. The vets at first suspected a stroke, but it could also be a spinal tumor, or an embolism. He is currently under 24 hour care at the vet.
Since the vets do not know exactly what is wrong with Kodiak, could you all please send your best purrs and good wishes to him? He needs to get better fast!

Oh no! We're purring for a diagnosis and that it's something that can be easily treated. Paws crossed for handsome Kodiak, his humans must be out of their minds with worry and stress.

How very sad! Always so hard to lose a loved family member. Kodiak was a beautiful friend. And, at least you have your memories!
