Shiny Furs

Last week my friends Tipper and Misty asked me about how I keep my furs so nice and shiny. It's a complicated process so you might want to write it down, or maybe print out this page so you can refer to it later.
  • First, it's very important to have a lot of baths. I have at least six per day. But not the kind that involve water.
  • Second, you must sit in the sun a lot.
  • Third, sitting by the heater as much as you can helps a lot.
  • Fourth, if you can sleep under the doona (duvet) you will keep your furs shiny.
  • Fifth, you must take a LOT of naps.
  • Finally, convincing your mum or dad to give you ham or roast chicken helps most of all.
I hope this helps all the kitties and pups out there.

Great tips, Huffle! My vet told me when I saw her last month that flaxseed oil is great for making a cat's coat shiny, so Mummy has been adding a little to my Fancy Feast!

When all my furs grow back I hope they can be almost as shiney as yours, Huffle. I do not need to print this owt as I like all of these things, 'cept the doona, as I doona have a doona, but I will try my best to get one.

Houston, we have a problem. Baths? Heaters? We can handle the ham and napping, so guess we will only be half shiny.

We think that the ham is what makes us the most shiny, yes, it must be the ham☺

Oh, what the TH said, baths - forget it. Sun is good but only as long as the a/c vent is close by. Naps, not too bad, Ham and chicken - right on!!!

Your sage advice sounds very tasty! Thanks for the grooming tips...see, mewmie, ham and chicken baby food coming right up...she doesn't cook much and she calls baby food Fast Food for Cats.

Essential is to have a plan, and you have a solid plan, Huffle. We will bring it up with our human staff, especially the part about ham, chicken, or both.

I have a very shiney coat like yours and your advice seems pretty good although except for Ham and Chicken I don't do any of those things, cuz my coat is heavy and it always keeps me warm!

Stella

Those are good tips, Huffle! And most of them work for me...except the one about sitting by the heater...I LOVE to sit by the heater but it dries my furs out...and gives me white speckles in my furs...mom sez I shouldn't sit by the heater...but I don't listen to her....

We can agree with the naps and chicken. But we'll never be very shiny.

hey Huffle Mawson,

That is a lot of work! And I don't know about so many baths, even the kind without water! And a heater? I think I would definitely melt!

But, I can dig the ham and roast chicken part. Thanks for the tips!

I have been having trouble with my fur lately but I also haven't been sleeping under the doona, or sitting by the heater, or getting chicken and ham. I should try your tips.

Ari says ham and chicken--and lots of naps--are good for her coat, too. Funny, though, it's not nearly as shiny as yours. Maybe we should up the baths.
