Monday mutterings

I have nothing exciting to report today. Mum has still not taken me to Kansas to visit Zimmie so I am home pouting in my Huffle bed.

Yesterday mum tried to take some more photos of me. She forgets that I got very good marks in my classes at Stormy's school of siberian studies. These are a few of the results:

Mum says please ignore the weeds, they are the only things growing in our garden at the moment. Apparently weeds don't need water.

Then I felt a bit sorry for her so I gave her this pose:
It was really windy last night at home so I stayed tucked up in my Huffle bed where it's safe. I don't like the wind, it messes up my fur.

Sunday Scratchings

Last night mum and dad went out again. That's TWO nights in a row they've been out and left me alone in this house. Frankly, it's not good enough and I will be complaining to the RSPCA as soon as I can steal mum's mobile phone.

This morning mum did redeem herself by letting me sleep on her lap under the doona while she drank her coffee in bed. I was even really well behaved and didn't spill any or anything!

Princess Eva and her new brother Brice got to meet my best friend Zimmie this weekend. I'm so jealous! I want to go to Kansas too. Mum says it's a very long way from Melbourne; you can't get there by bus or anything like that. I still say we should go.

Salvador is still being put outside when mum and dad go out. It makes life very peaceful for me during the day.

Friday Follies

Because I live at the bottom of the world, I get to experience Friday long before any of you do. I can tell you that it's a bit cold and mum and dad are going to be home late from work. But it's all okay, I am tucked up in my Huffle bed with my laptop nearby so I can surf the interweb when I want to.

I'll just go and check if mum has left her plastic card at home so I can do some shopping on eBay. My friend Witty Kitty needs some help escaping from all those foster pups. And I need to buy a satellite navigation system for Ammy and Zim so they don't get lost on the way to my house.

And I think I passed my Khyraese khlass, Khyra said I did very well so I think I am allowed to put the logo on my blog.

Khlass in Khyraese

This is me watching TV and looking at the interweb reading Khyra's khlass on the Ao4's blog.

I had to lie down so I khould khoncentrate very hard on what Khyra and Stormy were saying! I think I understand what is needed to speak Khyraese so I hope I khan get my logo and proudly display it on my blog too!

I only have one khwestion: have Zim and Ammy gotten lost on their way to my house? I haven't seen any sign of them yet!

Mid week mayhem

Huffle has scary eyes! Well, can you see how they are reflected in the big shiny tiles that I am lying on? I was a bit tired last night after chasing that stupid red dot around for ages; I'm trying to kill it but for some reason I can never quite get it. But I will keep trying! And look how my eyes look shiny and blue. They're not really, they are more greeny-yellow. And they generally don't glow like that.

Salvador was put out the back door this morning when mum and dad left for work. Ha!

Did I mention I have my very own computer now? Mum got her new iMac thingy a few weeks ago so she has let me use the Sony Vaio for my blog. It's very good, and we have wireless internet so I can have the laptop in bed with me, even when I'm upstairs guarding the spare bed (MY bed) from intruders.

Ha Ha Salvador's in trouble!

Salvador is in BIG trouble at the moment. Dad got home last night from work and discovered that Salvador had left him a "present" in his wardrobe. Dad knew it wasn't me because I always use my litterbox. Salvador now cannot be left in the house alone (which means less opportunity for him to torment me).

Ammy, Zim, Khyra and Lola, I'm having mum bake us some cookies for when you get here. How long does it take to drive from Kansas to Australia? And remember, Melbourne is at the bottom of the country so it might take even longer.

Mum tried to take some photos of me last night. But I wasn't in the mood. I kept looking at her but as soon as I saw the flashy thing on her camera go off, I would look away:
So that is a lovely picture of the top of my head.

Monday morning huffing

It's Monday morning which means mum and dad have gone to work and I am left to my own devices in the house. What should I do?

Let's face it, I'll probably end up doing this:
Somepuppy's comments yesterday suggested that Salvador and I should pose for a picture together. Let me tell you right now that is never going to happen. He doesn't like me and only comes near me to hit me. So I stay away from him. If Lola or Ammy want to come over and "play" with him, please feel free! I'll be home every evening this week to open the front door. And this is a pup-friendly house, mum loves pups and so does dad.

Poo Face Salvador

Some of you yesterday said you had never seen a picture of Salvador before. That's because he is mean to me and this is my blog, not his! But just to show you that I can share, here is another picture of him looking mean.

You can't really tell from the pictures but he is a lot bigger than I am. In this picture he is sitting on top of his cat tower and plotting the downfall of everyone in this house (he forgets that mum buys the food and dad gives it to him).

Today mum had coffee in bed and I nearly spilt it everywhere! I jumped on her lap and headbutted her hand that was holding the coffee cup. It was nearly a coffee tsunami in the bed. It would have been really funny. But because she managed not to spill any, I dipped my tail in when she wasn't looking and she found some black furs at the bottom.

Today is cold and rainy so I'll be doing this all day...

Saturday sleepiness

It's been a busy week in Huffleland, what with Grandpa being in hospital and all. The good news is he will be going home on Monday and should make a complete recovery! Mum is very happy and so is Grandma. Thankyou everyone for your kind thoughts. They definitely helped!

I want to show you a picture of Salvador the poo-face. Here he is hogging dad's lap.

Doesn't he know that's MY dad and MY lap? Only I'm allowed to sit on dad's lap and look pathetic like that. Although, he does look kind of dorky so we can all laugh at him.

It's pretty cold outside today so I am going to spend all day in my Huffle bed and relax. Mum had coffee in bed this morning but I didn't go and share it (sorry Zim) because I was busy napping in my own bed.

Grandpa health update

Some of you might not know that my grandpa (mum's dad) has been in hospital lately. That's like the V-E-T for humans. He had a tumour on his pit-woo-itary gland and had to have it removed. He is recovering from his operation well and the doctor and surgeon said he should be fine - they are very sure that the tumour is be-nine (I thought there was only one?) and mum says that is a good thing.

My grandpa is the only one who is allowed to rub my belly so he better get well soon! Nobody knows why I let him rub my belly - I don't even let mum or dad do it - and I'm not telling!

Daily Blogger Award

My very cool friends the Army of Four gave me an award. Me - Huffle Mawson! It's so exciting, I've only had one award in my life (and that was from our President-elect Turbo).

I'm a daily blogger! I try really hard to do interesting things so I have something to write about every day, but sometimes it's a bit hard when you have to keep up a busy napping schedule like mine.

Thanks to Stormy, Ammy, Zimmie and Dave for giving it to me. The Ao4 and Queen Meeshka were my inspiration for joining the blogging world so this is very cool.

I'd like to pass this award on to Queen Meeshka, in fact. Although she doesn't blog every single day, she blogs enough to keep us all entertained and she is the HULA Hoop Ringleader!

Huffing about

Did you see my best pup-bud Zimmie's post today? He looks so cool with those glasses! I'm gonna claw mum to see if she's got any lying around that I could wear.

This is what I did yesterday after my big Sunday of napping:

Notice my Stormy pose!

I had another photo to show you but blogger won't let me upload it today for some reason. Very annoying!

What I did on Sunday

This is what I did on Sunday morning:

This is what I did on Sunday after lunch:

This is what I did on Sunday afternoon:
You can't tell from this photo but my Huffle bed is right in front of the big telly so I was watching a movie with mum.

This morning I am going to have another nap to recover from my busy Sunday activities!

Purrr S: I'm not sure if I was clear about the Cat Pack. You don't have to be a cat to become a member - and there are no entrance exams or anything like that. The requirements are not as strict as HULA.

Cat Pack logo unveiled

So after all my clawing and howling and head-butting, mum has finally got the message and installed photoshop for me. I now proudly present... the Cat Pack logo!

I know when I mentioned it a few months ago some of you said you wanted to join the cat pack so you can paw me an email at hufflemawson AT gmail DOT com (I think you know what I mean) and I will send you the logo as well.

I have used a cat that none of my friends look like so no-one can complain about favouritism :)

Earning my HULA stripes

Example number 1:

The other night when mum got home from work, I waited until she sat down on the couch and then I head butted her and clawed at her for half an hour. No reason why, I just felt like it.

Example number 2:

Mum has tried to thwart my clawing of her hair by cutting it all off (it used to be very long and now it's only just shoulder length). I won't let that stop me! Last night, instead of clawing her hair to get under the doona, I clawed her back instead. She has a lovely decorative scratch on it now. And I still got to go under the doona!

Example number 3:

There was a black hair in her coffee this morning. I'm just saying'...

Friday the 13th (and I'm a black cat!)

I don't know if anyone out there is superstitious but this combination might be bad for those of you who are! Mum and dad are clearly not superstitious since they have me (the most prettiest black cat in the country) but my grandma is not so sure! I have heard mum say that she is "not a cat/person". Well duh, of course not, she's a human? I have never seen a cat/person before in my life. Mum is silly.

Did you all see Stormy's post today? I always knew she was very wise! Zimmie has been my best pup-bud for a while now so I knew he wouldn't hurt me. And Dave and I share the same colours! Maybe I could be a guide cat for the colour blind? Maybe not, it sounds like a lot of hard work to me.

This morning I went outside as soon as dad got out of bed and opened the door for me. I even climbed over the back fence and visited the neighbours for a bit. But I came home before mum and dad went to work so I am inside where it's warm now. Today it's going to be chilly in Melbourne - about 13deg C - I'd rather be in bed! I slept between mum and dad last night again until dad squashed me, then I moved over to mum's side and slept there. She doesn't squish me like dad does.

After saying to a few pups this week that we never get big storms here we had one last night! There wasn't any thunder but the rain and wind were really loud! I had to sit right next to mum to be safe. Dad patted me to calm me down so I started purring. It was all okay.

Feeling better

Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes yesterday - I feel much better now. I stayed in my bed all day until mum got home from work, then I made her sit on the couch and I sat in her lap for a couple of hours. Later that night mum said she knew I was feeling better because I did Huffle zoomies around the house. I didn't get to eat much dinner though because that poo-face Salvador ate most of it.

But, last night I was sleeping on the bed between mum and dad, and dad squished me! Mum was complaining about him taking up too much space too. Honestly, what's an explorer cat to do? I went and slept in my Huffle bed where no-one can roll on me. Much safer that way.

Here's a picture of me outside in the backyard from the weekend. Dad has these wooden horse things (they don't look anything like horses to me so I don't know what he's talking about) which I like to sit on.

Sick Huffle

I am not feeling very well this morning. I have a sick belly. I don't know why, I haven't eaten anything strange. I was happily asleep under the doona with mum this morning but I had to get up and rush down to my litterbox. Dad had to clean up a bit of mess around it because I was feeling so sick.

Poor Huffle. Maybe I celebrated too hard after being accepted into HULA. I am staying in my Huffle bed this morning and not moving until mum comes home from work this afternoon.

HULA honour

I'm so honoured. I'd like to thank the Academy, and everyone who voted for me. Making this picture was... oh wait. I haven't won an Oscar, it's something better!

Queen Meeshka has decreed that I should be made an honorary member of HULA! Under my black fur, I'm blushing bright red (even though my mum sometimes says I have blonde fur underneath, a bit like Dave).

I had been working on my HULA membership application for ages but I just didn't think that I fit all the criteria.

I promise to do my very best to carry on the HULA cause in Australia. Surely it's only a matter of time before we take over the world?

Parallel universe

I don't know what went wrong today. Mum didn't have coffee in bed. In fact, she got up first! That never happens on the weekend! I had planned to put some fur in her cup too. But I should tell you, I did what my attorney at claw advised me and hid some in the bottom of the cup yesterday. Mum was not happy. It was so funny!

This is me getting ready to attack:

I have heard that tomorrow is a public holiday so that means mum will stay in bed and have coffee (I think; after today we can't be sure of anything). I'll report on whether or not she finds fur in her cup then.

Huffle Mawson the Movie!

This is mum's first go at uploading a video of me. I was chasing the red dot.

How exciting!

Brave new Huffle

So last night, after mum got home from her trip WITH NO NEW MOUSES, we were all sitting watching telly and Salvador was scratching at the front door like he does when he wants to come in. I was sitting on dad's lap at the time being a purring Huffle but he got up to let Salvador in.

When Salvador walked past me, I stuck out my paw and hit him in the face! I felt very brave and I knew mum would stick up for me if he tried to hit me back. But he just looked surprised and kept walking. This could be the start of a whole new situation in Huffle Land. Mum and dad were laughing so hard they nearly fell off the couch.

Normally I run up to Salvador to hit him but I get scared at the last second and run away again. Not any more! And anyway, if he tried to attack me all my friends and the troopers in the Army of Four would defend me (I hope).

Brave Huffle!

Busy times

Mum's away so I had to try and do this post all by myself. It's hard to type when you don't have thumbs, and you have long claws like me (until Queen Meeshka's claws are back, mine are available for her use).

Anyway after all my hard work this weekend I thought I'd show you a picture of me playing with my mouses. Not Roger; I haven't decided if I really like him yet. For starters, he takes up a lot of room in my bed! This is my oldest, most favourite mouse ever.
See how ferocious I look? I have been practicing that look on Salvador so he will leave me alone. I'm not sure how well it's working but he hasn't tried to hit me over the head for a couple of weeks now.

New instructions

My attorney at claw, Queen Meeshka, has informed me that I am being too kind to mum by not putting any fur in her coffee cup on the weekends. So, I will do the right thing and accidentally dip my tail in next time (mum, if you're reading this, I'm just saying it to humour Meeshka. Otherwise I really mean it).

Meanwhile, I was so tired from all my hard work yesterday that I had to just lie down last night. I didn't even have the strength to make it to my Huffle bed. I think Zimmie's right: I may have overdone it with all my efforts.

Mum is going away again tomorrow for three days. That means I will be left with dad (who does feed me, so that's ok) and Salvador (who still hates me). Maybe I should overcome my fear of being in the car and go with mum. Dad doesn't wake up and let me under the doona like mum does. I'm not sure what to do about that!

Busy Sunday

It's the first day of winter here in Australia. To celebrate, it's 11degC outside (about 51F for those kitties and pups who don't understand celsius) which means this explorer cat is NOT going outside as it's too chilly for my paws.

I have been helping mum inside though. Here I am making sure she can't change the channel on the telly (the remote sensor thingy is behind me) because I am watching a Kylie Minogue special:
Here I am helping dad to fix the phone line problem we've been having:
And here I am making sure no-one goes upstairs without my permission. I take my sentry duties very seriously:
A busy day so far! Am I doing a good job Zimmie?

Purrr S: another coffee in bed passed without incident today.

Purrr Purrr S: my paws are crossed for Charlie. We live in the same city as Charlie and Opy (and Greg and Brooke) so I am going to ask mum if we can go visit them.
