A cat by any other name...

Today I thought I'd share with you my long list of nicknames. I'm sure most of you know that my real name is Stella. Dad named me that when he first adopted me. After a bit, mum figured out that I huffed a lot, and she had been watching a Harry Potter movie, so she called me Hufflepuff after the house in Harry Potter.

Then dad realised I was a very adventurous cat who liked to explorer things, so I got called Huffle Mawson, Explorer Cat, after the antarctic explorer Douglas Mawson. Huffle is the name I answer to.

My other nicknames include:
  • Huffy Puff
  • Huffle Pawson, because I have four paws
  • Toasty Pawson, as I love to be toasty
  • Snoopy Pawson, as I am a very good snoopervisor
  • Huffle Dum Dum, because mum says underneath my black furs I am very blonde (she's blonde so that means we must be related, yes?)
  • Little Black Cat (that one's obvious)
  • Telly Show Cat, because I love to watch TV, especially the cricket (the sport, not the bugs)
  • Pawson Mawson (mum and dad are weird sometimes)
  • Sticky Nose, because I have to know what's going on at all times
  • Huffelina (don't ask me where dad comes up with these)
  • Psycho Huffle (just because I'll bite you if you touch my belly does not mean I am psycho)
So that's my list of nick names, and there are probably more I've forgotten. Care to share yours?

Huffle's new job

I got a new job. Mum is always cooing over Dave and his Guide Dog for the Colour Blind gig so I thought I should do something to help mum out.

I am the new DJ in the house of Huffle! Here I am choosing which CDs should be played next.

Unfortunately, mum woke me up when I was having a nap yesterday - as you can see I wasn't too happy about it:
My friend Angus wanted to know what my name means. I have talked about it briefly before but here is the long-winded version. When mum and dad adopted me from the Cat Protection Society, I didn't have a name, just a number. Dad spent a week trying to figure out a name that suited me, and eventually chose Stella (it had to start with "s" because of poo-face Salvador). So my real name is Stella. But eventually, once I had started relaxing after I realised that I was in my fur-ever home and safe, I started exploring. I huff at things I don't understand, or don't like, and mum had been watching the Harry Potter films and started calling me Hufflepuff. That got shortened to Huffle. My second name is Mawson, because I am an explorer cat. Mum calls me nosy. I am just interested in things. Like Mawson the antarctic explorer.

I forgot to say that the spare foot that was growing out of my head has magically disappeared. I think Thor and Marco Polo came over in the middle of the night and chewed it off. I'm glad to be rid of it, it was attracting a lot of unnecessary attention.

Nicknames

I have plenty of nicknames. You probably don't even realise it but Huffle Mawson is one of my nicknames. My real name is Stella.

Mum called me Hufflepuff after Harry Potter because I huff at things. A lot. Then she shortened it to Huffle and added Mawson after the antarctic explorer, because I like to explore things. I am never afraid to go and check out a new place (except the v-e-t, but only crazy cats like going there). Even Salvador (grumpy old man) doesn't like going to the v-e-t.

Other nicknames: Huffy, Huffley, Huffle Telly Show Cat, Psycho Huffle, Huffel Pawson, Huffle Gump, Huffypuff, Huffley Puffley, Little Black Cat, Little Girl, Huffle Dum Dum, Huffle Maniac and any combination of the above. You can see mum and dad are not very inventive.

I know my name is Huffle, and I come when mum calls me. I don't always come when dad calls me. I don't know about being called Stella, I ignore that one.
