Prancer Pie said: Tell us about your new place.
As you may or may not know, we are going to be moving house soon. No-one is exactly sure when, because the builders have not finished renovating the house we are moving too.
The new house is actually my mum's house, that she has owned since before she met dad. It is only about 15 minutes drive away from here, so we are not going too far. It was built in the 1930s and has art deco features, and it is smaller than our current house. It has not had any maintenance done on it for ten years, so mum and dad are taking the chance to do all that stuff now, after the renters moved out and before we move in.
Our current house has two levels, but the new house has only one, so Teddy is going to be sad because he likes to run up and down the stairs like a maniac.
It will be a like a whole new house to mum, since it will have a new kitchen floor, new bathroom, new carpets and blinds, fresh paint and a few other things like air conditioning and insulation in the roof. It has central heating already so that will be good because I like to be toasty.
The backyard has a nice high fence all around it so we should be safe out there, and mum and dad will be getting the garden done eventually so we'll have even more fun stuff to explore.
I am not looking forward to moving house but I guess as long as I have my toasty bed I will be okay.

Our mom says it's good to get this work done before you move! :-)
Maybe we'll get to see some pics when the renos are complete? Oh, and we're pretty sure Teddy will find another way to burn off energy and create havoc, stairs or not stairs. Ha.
I bet it will be very exciting when you go to your new house. I'm sure you will soon get used to it. Teddy can come and run and up down our stairs any time he likes hee he :)xx
My human loves vintage houses - ours was built in 1927, and is sort of Bavarian style. It is a good thing yours is having hers renovated before you guys move in - the last house we all lived in seemed like it was being worked on constantly while we were living there, and it was very annoying to us cats.
Our Mommy is interested in your new house, Huffle! She lived in an old (1890's) farmhouse for her first house and it was a pain to reno. She says being 25 and ignorant is a good way to do reno the first time, ha ha!
CC is all worried he won't be able to find your new place so perhaps you should draw him a map.
It will be exciting to have new places to explore. It is good that you have a high fence so you will be able to enjoy your garden.
That sounds like it is going to be a really interesting place! Are you going to put your furs all over the rugs??? I hopes so!
Wow! We just viewed your mum's shoes! My mom thinks that is cool!!
Mom says moving is hard an annoying! We are wishing you luck and an easy move! :D
We bet the move will be worth the work! One floor sounds great to me. My old house has two floors and I'm too old to be running up and down the stairs although the kitties love to. Love, Debbie, Holly & Lilly and Angel
The house sounds great, Huffle, but you are right, moving is a huge pain. When they get ready to do this, they throw away lots of stuff. Invariablly something precious to you! On the other hand, there's the opportunity to find new (maybe better) toasty spots. Maybe Teddy the Terror will mellow out. And a safe yard. Just close your eyes and sleep throught the transition.
We'd like to know about where you come from. Do you know your mom or dad? Any siblings?

Mom is excited for yall, but I the cat of this house would not like the change....MOL

We think you will be very happy, Huffle.Between your toasty bed and the heat, you will be very cozy. Mum might need to get a treadmill for Teddy to wear him down a bit:)

Huffle,
Me and mom are looking forward to see your new house ! and believe it or not, My house was built since 1930's too and it's art deco !!!
When my pawrents did renovation ( which is not finnish the outside ), they kept the theme of " Deco " we add some thing and we keep something.
I'm sure you will happy in the new house ! but now you make me wonder " Do you have a cat door at your new house ? "
And I think Teddy will be O.K. because I guess we will enjoy climb up/down the tree instead or roof !!..MOL
xoxo
It sounds like your new house will be pretty cool!! Because of the A/C. And pretty warm! Because of the heat!!
Sounds very exciting. I moved 4 times when I had Praline and it usually took her a few days to be comfortable in a new place. Good luck!
Mom Paula
Moving is upsetting, but it does not last!! Once you get there and explore a bit, we think you will be OK :)
You will have all your familiar things ,so that makes it good!!

Hmmm. Maybe Teddy could stay behind in the house that has the stairs? Your mom could come over and feed him every day. I mean, I'm not suggesting he should starve or anything....
That sounds so exciting! The moving can be traumatic, but the exploring will be worth it! Purrs.
Pee Ess - Yay for Heat and AC!
Hey Huffle yoor noo house sounds cool! We are sure yoo will like it!
Moving is definitely un-fun, but we hope you luff your new house even more than this one.
Will you have a parsley pot there?
Play bows,
Zim
It will be fun to explore the new place, but I agree the warmth is important, especially at this time of the year. It was nice and warm here today and I sat in the sun, so maybe the sunshine will warm you too soon.
Moving is a little bit skerry. We can't wait to see photos of your newly rennovated home!
when I used to move a lot I would put the kitties in a far back bedroom with a closet and put the sandbox and bedding and a place to hide in that area just for them. Then I would avoid moving stuff into that room as long as possible so they would be less disturbed or have a chance to run or get hurt.
Since they tend to want to run and hide far away from things, why fight it.
I'm sure you will soon get used to it. thanks for sharing ^_^
