News from the back yard

As you can see from this photo, my back yard is not very impressive. Really, it looks like a wasteland. Our next door neighbours have these trees that lose all their dead leaves into our yard. It makes a nice soft spot for me to sit on, but then mum gets annoyed if I accidentally bring some into the house. I don't know why, I'm just helping her decorate.

Hi Huffle,
My backyard is covered in snow and ice! I wish I could play in some leaves but they are all buried in the snow!

Geez Huffle,
Do we ever know about the mom's adversion to leafies. Y'all've seen the picture of paddock and all the trees are hardwood broadleafs. Dad needs to bring the leaf blower in to the house to clear it out in October and November. We like the red and orange leafies better than the brown crackly ones. Can you get over, or under, the fence?

we have discovered that loose leaves are good hiding spots for bugs and lizards. Who could argue with having them around?!

It's the time of year where nearly everything looks like a wasteland. We can't wait for Spring to get here!

Those leaves make pretty cheap toys, too. You can skitter them all over the house and sometimes, if you're real lucky, a bug comes in with'em!

Oh, I know how that goes. We have these vines that grow on a structure right over the backdoor. In the summer and fall, we were constantly hearing, "I just vacuumed these leaves!!" We are just doing our job.

We have lots of tree, but there are hardly ever any leaves in our yard. We wonder where all our leave go. Maybe they blow into our neighbor's yard too.

Gerry our scruffy bro' brings in leaves all the time - and tiny slugs, twigs, seeds - we have trained our Mum to consider them gifts hehe!
