You know. The very same thing happened to our tree. The leaves turned brown and then fell off. And we did nothing. It's just one of those things they do. Plants and trees are funny.
I bet it is going into dormancy for the cold, rainy winter months.
It might be back when Spring comes, and if not, maybe some people will have forgotten about it! (Especially if some cat digs it up and tosses it over the fence!)
Sherlock Homer says the the tips of the plant's leaves all look suspiciously ragged as if something had been gnawing on them. The induced plant trauma could definitely account for the appearance of the plant. Have you seen any sharp teeth biting or chewing type of animals out in your back yard lately? - TBH&K

That is not dead, Huffle. It is just going through it's Brown Phase. Or something.
Maybe you need to fertilize it (if you know what I mean)?!
Maybe you fertilized it TOO much?
SunBurn!
Yeah, don't let her get away with blaming you, mate.
We thought our hu-dad had been giving out gardening tips again.
Are you sure you didn't pee on that plant, Huffle? That'll kill it, fur sure! I guess it's not something you'd like to admit.
Oh Huffle, dear, I used a couple more of your pictures on the LOL-Spot today, if you want to take a look.
Well, I for one don't see YOU doing anything bad to that plant Huffle. You are in the clear by me ;)
you're just dead-heading to help out your mom, right?
Of course it's not your fault. I bet you even water it regularly...
you need to give some lessons of gardening to your mother :)

Too bad about Auntie Trace's lack of a green thumb. Perhaps if she gave you HAM, you'd help with the gardening?
Play bows,

My mom gave up on live plants. We have fake ones in my house.

Hmmmm, it looks a lot like the plants in our yard that we have been trying to keep watered for Mom:)

Clearly an inferior plant. Nothing to do with you.

Kisses and hugs

Someone in your family has a brown thumb. You don't have thumbs so don't let them blame you. You look lovely in the planter box.
Hello Huffle!! My name is Koda, visit my blog sometime!
I agree, its not dead!!! its hibernating. Deny Everything!!
Koda
You're ok, that soil looks a little dry to me! have you been helping with the watering, Huffle?
Huffle, we can't believe that you could have caused that. It's always so easy for humans to blame the cat.
Yours in solidarity,
Gypsy & Tasha
Is the Huffle fertiliser not working?
Sometimes it's just not meant to be, Huffs.
Don't worry, i don't blame u!
Hey, i got a new cousin this weekend!

Sniffie and the Florida Furkids
We know you did YOUR best to save it, Huffle!
Well, of course it wasn't your fault! Hoomins.
Gotta be her fault!
Has Steve been over there? He has a habit of straddling plants and then they turn brown. I don't know what it is, he's magic or something.
