Melbourne Cup Day

Today is Cup Day in Melbourne. That means that lots of people go to the races:

and cheer until they can't talk any more for their horse to win:
but I'll just be staying home. It's a public holiday for my mum and dad, but I don't think they're doing anything special. Melbourne Cup is the richest horse race in Australasia - the winner gets something like two million dollars. Think of all the ham you could buy with that!

    I know you are enjoying time with Mom and Dad. Thanks for sharing the pictures of Melbourne Cup day...we didn't realize it was today....or for us tomorrow. HA!! Still funny to be writing today's news to someone already in tomorrow. Mom and I are easily amused.

    Mum stuffed up her betting ticket and backed the wrong horse. She said that could be our horse. It was Mourilyan. We're claiming the winnings we get for him placing.
